How to Send Around 200 Cold Emails a Day for Under $50/Month

Most people assume they need hundreds of dollars every month to start cold outbound.

They pay for expensive lead databases, email verification platforms and Google or Microsoft inboxes before they have even tested their offer.

You do not need to start that way.

In this playbook, I’ll show you a lean setup that can support approximately 200 cold emails per day with a core mailbox cost of less than $50 per month.

💡 Important: This is not about sending thousands of spam emails. Use clean data, contact relevant business prospects, personalize your message and always respect opt-out requests.

The Complete Setup

You need four things:

  1. A source of relevant B2B leads
  2. Email verification
  3. Sending domains and mailboxes
  4. A simple email-copy framework

Let’s break down each part.

1. Find Leads Without Paying for an Expensive Database

For lead data, you can start with:

GetLeads:

https://getleads.io/

GetLeads currently offers 5,000 free contacts and is designed to work with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and VS Code. You can connect it and describe your ideal customer profile using a normal prompt.

For example:

Find founders of B2B lead-generation agencies in the United States with 5–50 employees that actively provide cold-email or appointment-setting services.

You can then ask the AI workflow to:

  • Search for companies matching your ICP
  • Find relevant decision-makers
  • Enrich their business information
  • Export the results
  • Organize everything into a CSV

Example workflow

My ICP is:

Industry: B2B lead-generation agencies
Location: United States, United Kingdom and Canada
Company size: 550 employees
Decision-maker: Founder, CEO or Owner

Find companies matching this ICP and return:
- Company name
- Website
- Contact name
- Job title
- Business email
- LinkedIn profile

You can adjust the prompt for almost any category.

What if your ICP is too small?

You may not need all 5,000 credits.

I also have access to a large B2B lead database. Send me your ICP and I can search it and provide you with a small lead sample for free.

There is no pressure to purchase anything. I am happy to help you validate whether the audience is large enough before you build the complete system.

2. Do Not Skip Verification—and Do Not Overpay for It

A cheap lead list becomes expensive when the emails are invalid.

Poor verification can lead to:

  • High bounce rates
  • Damaged domain reputation
  • Suspended mailboxes
  • Campaigns landing in spam

For verification, I use a self-hosted setup based on Reacher:

https://reacher.email/

Reacher provides an open-source email-verification API and can be self-hosted. It also offers hosted and proxy-based infrastructure for users who do not want to manage everything themselves.

My setup uses:

  • A self-hosted verifier
  • VPS infrastructure
  • SMTP verification proxies
  • Bulk email processing

At scale, my effective verification cost is extremely low. However, your real cost will depend on the server, licensing and proxy configuration you choose.

The technical setup is not difficult for a developer, but it may be confusing if you have never worked with Docker, servers or SMTP verification.

Contact me if you want to understand the setup before purchasing another verification subscription.

3. Choose Your Mailbox Infrastructure

You have two main options.

Option A: Official Google or Microsoft Mailboxes

Official Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 inboxes are a good choice when you have a larger budget and want a traditional setup.

For example, Premium Inboxes currently lists standard Google and Microsoft inboxes at approximately $3.50 per inbox per month.

At that price:

98 mailboxes × $3.50 = $343 per month

This can work well, but it is expensive for someone who is testing a new offer.

Option B: Azure-Based Mailbox Infrastructure

Azure-based mailbox setups have become popular because they allow outbound operators to distribute a small number of emails across a larger number of mailboxes.

Instead of sending 20–30 emails from one inbox, you can use more mailboxes and send only a few emails from each.

This reduces the pressure placed on every individual mailbox.

4. The Azure Setup I Use

I built my own managed Azure-based mailbox infrastructure.

The main difference is tenant isolation.

Some low-cost providers may place several customer domains inside the same environment. When evaluating any provider, ask them:

  • Is the tenant shared with other customers?
  • How many domains are inside it?
  • Do I receive administrative access?
  • What happens if another customer abuses the infrastructure?
  • Are the mailboxes independent licensed accounts or another mailbox configuration?

In my setup, I use:

1 customer domain
1 separate tenant
49 mailboxes
No unrelated customer domains inside that tenant

This means the domain is not sharing the same tenant with several unknown outbound customers.

Based on my own testing, I have seen approximately 80–90% inbox placement with properly configured, warmed and carefully operated campaigns. This is a past observation, not a guarantee—results depend on your domains, data, message, reputation and sending behaviour.

Cost

One domain setup: $20 per month
Mailboxes included: 49
Recommended starting volume: 12 cold emails per mailbox per day

5. The Daily Sending Calculation

With one domain:

49 mailboxes × 2 emails per day
= 98 cold emails per day

With two domains:

98 mailboxes × 2 emails per day
= 196 cold emails per day

That is approximately 200 cold emails per day.

After proper setup and warm-up, you may gradually test three emails per mailbox:

98 mailboxes × 3 emails per day
= 294 cold emails per day

Do not immediately start at the maximum volume.

Begin conservatively, monitor mailbox health and only increase sending when the results remain stable.

6. Estimated Cost Breakdown

ComponentEstimated cost
First Azure domain setup with 49 mailboxes$20/month
Second Azure domain setup with 49 mailboxes$20/month
GetLeads initial lead credits$0 to start
Email verificationVariable
Core mailbox cost$40/month

Costs that may not be included

Depending on your existing setup, you may also need:

  • Two sending domains
  • A cold-email sequencer
  • Optional warm-up or monitoring tools

So the most accurate promise is:

Around 200 cold emails per day with core mailbox infrastructure costing less than $50 per month.

7. Use a Simple Email Framework

Infrastructure will not save a weak offer.

Your email still needs:

  • A relevant opening
  • A problem the prospect recognizes
  • A clear outcome
  • Credibility
  • A low-friction question

I created a simple cold-email framework inspired by Alex Hormozi’s offer principles.

You can read and copy the framework here:

https://app.notion.com/p/34681f7dc52781e2b921e5a7a09323ca?pvs=21

Do not copy one message and send it to every market. Use the framework, but adjust the pain point, proof and offer for your specific ICP.

Final Setup

Your complete system looks like this:

GetLeads

Relevant B2B lead list

Reacher verification

Two isolated Azure setups

98 total mailboxes

Approximately 196 cold emails per day

Replies and booked meetings

The objective is not to send the highest possible volume.

The objective is to create a lean system that lets you test your offer, generate conversations and scale only after you know the campaign works.
